Pokémon Go- Great Over Excellent Throws?
Hey guys. We know how the Pokémon Go catching system works. Pokémon Go has a unique way of catching Pokémon. The catch rate of a Pokémon will increase or decrease depending upon the throw of the ball. If you manage to time your throws when the coloured circle round them is at their smallest, you will have a greater chance of success in capturing the Pokémon or so it would seem.
It has been recently pointed that maybe excellent throws aren’t excellent after all. As it has been pointed out on Reddit, that great throws might just edge out excellent throws. The redditor pointed out that great curveballs are better than straight excellent throws. The redditor said- “I can hit Raikou with an excellent throw over 95% of the time. However, I’ve been having a really tough time catching the beast. I set my target circle quite small, and I seemingly hit the lower left quadrant most of the time, spinning clockwise. What I recently realized is that there’s a good chance most of my throws are not registering as curveballs.”
He further pointed out that according to a specific chart, the great curveball does have a higher catch probability.
Then the redditor further added- “My current thinking is I can place a great throw into an upper quadrant to better my chances at gaining the curveball bonus, it will give me a better overall catch rate if my excellent throws are in fact not registering as curves.”
