Pokemon Go Event Is Now Happening At Your Place

After all this wait finally pokemon go got update for their players. Niantic just announced a surprise update just days before Pokemon Go Fest. Players had just about given up hope on a new update before this weekend’s event, as it usually takes several days for an update to get onto Apple’s App Store. Pokémon GO updated to version 0.69.0 for Android and 1.39.0 for iOS.

Pokémon Go Fest is happening in your house this weekend, thanks to Twitch now you can Stream the outdoor event without heading to Chicago If you weren’t one of the people lucky enough to snap up a Pokémon Go Fest ticket before they sold out, you won’t have to miss out entirely. Niantic has partnered up with Twitch to air the event live from the scene this Saturday, July 22.

Niantic isn’t saying anything about logistical details or a streaming schedule yet, so we have no idea what to expect. The point of Pokémon Go Fest is to team up with other trainers in the real world, fighting Raid Battles together and catching enough Pokémon to win bragging rights over all the other participants. There’s even rumors of rare or legendary monsters maybe roaming around Chicago’s Grant Park, where Pokémon Go Fest will take place.

With the Pokémon Go Fest rules stipulating that all video equipment and fancy cameras are barred, we had to wonder if Niantic would be doing an exclusive broadcast. Polygon will have a presence at the actual outdoor event, so we won’t be tuning in, but for anyone outside of the city, this is your chance to get involved.

Remember that there’s another way to participate in Pokémon Go Fest, too — by playing the game during predetermined “challenge windows,” which will task players worldwide with hitting certain goals in order to unlock special bonuses.
