Pokemon GO: Pack your Bags for Pokemon Go Safari!

In a surprising announcement regarding the Pokemon Go Fest, Niantic also announced the official event details for Europe. Well, you asked for it, and Niantic gave it to you. For all the European trainers who wanted something other than Mr. Mime as regional exclusive. Looks like you are a treat.

Today Niantic Incorporated and The Pokemon Company International have unveiled new details for Pokémon GO’s global events and real-world activities for Trainers around the world to participate in together. In addition to Pokemon GO Fest, Trainers in Europe will have a chance to team up this summer across seven cities during Pokémon GO Safari Zone events, where they can catch rare Pokémon, obtain special rewards, and take on powerful Raid Bosses.

Taking help from Niantic official partners the Unibail-Rodamco Company. Pokémon GO Safari Zone events will be hosted at select Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers in Copenhagen and Prague on August 5, Stockholm and Amsterdam on August 12, and Oberhausen, Paris, and Barcelona on September 16.

“As a part of the Safari Zone Event, trainers in and around the selected locations will have an opportunity to catch special Pokemon that were never seen before in the European continent before”. This obviously translates that we will be seeing more regional exclusive Pokemon in the Safari Zones.

So this is the first time ever we have heard confirmation that Niantic will make regional exclusive Pokemon available out of their natural habitat. Now that’s a good sign for all the people looking forward to finishing their Pokedex. It was not made clear if we will be getting the experience in the Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago. But we can explicitly assume that the same is implied. So Fingers crossed.

The European Pokémon GO Safari Zone event locations and dates include:

August 5, 2017
Fisketorvet—Copenhagen, Denmark
Centrum Cerny Most—Prague, Czech Republic

August 12, 2017
Mall of Scandinavia—Stockholm, Sweden
Stadshart Amstelveen—Amstelveen, The Netherlands

September 16, 2017
CentrO—Oberhausen, Germany
Les Quatre Temps—Paris, France
La Maquinista—Barcelona, Spain

Please note that Asia will also be getting their first ever real-world Pokemon Go event, in collaboration with Pikachu Outbreak in Yokohama, Japan, from August 9–15. A special Pokémon GO experience will take place. More details on the event will be revealed soon.
