PokemonGo: Raids not Happening at Night?
After a few of our readers messaged us that they find it odd that raids do not happen during late hours of the day. Which is a little bothering for Pokemon Go Trainers with a standard 9 to 5 job and only get time to play during late hours. In some areas, trainers are reporting that gyms aren’t showing any raid battle notifications after 8 or 9 p.m. local time.
Officially Niantic has not responded as to why they have chosen to opt out from providing trainers with raids after about 9. From what we have seen, After 8 or 9 p.m., or after Pokemon Go switches to night mode in some area, the raids are gone.
A player in California said there were no raids from 10 pm to 1 am. Another trainer hadn’t seen any raids since around 9 p.m. Another heard there were many raids in his area around 7 p.m., but when he was able to look at 11 p.m., all the raids were gone.
From our observations, we have seen that, you can only participate in raids after sundown (in the game) only if the timer has started it’s countdown before sundown, but after that raid was done, no more raids were available around. At this point of time, there have been various measurements made to verify this fact, all that we have seen is that there will be no new raids happening from 9 pm to 9 am. The first raid of the day starts slowly only after 9 am, which was noted by many trainers.
Many trainers are left wondering after raids move out from their beta stage, that is all trainers will be eligible to participate in raids, then will they be seeing any changes to this system, probably yes. There are may experts who consider that this time blackout is just a part of the beta rollout.
Niantic is advancing pretty quick at making changes to their Riads. At first, raids were only available to people at level 35 and up. Now they’re available to trainers at level 25 and up. And at first they were only available at sponsored gyms, and now they’re available at many gyms, sponsored or not. So with so many changes happening so quickly, it’s highly likely that these nighttime raid blackouts are just temporary.
Remember guys Raids are still in beta until early July, so Niantic may just be testing them during the daytime for now and may extend them into nighttime at some point soon. Also, we have got one bit of important observation that we forgot, remember that original Pokemon Go Trailer last summer? In that, they did feature a legendary raid occurring at a huge event at Time’s Square. That video featured a legendary raid after sundown.
