The Great Nest Migration has just hit, Marking the 25th since release!

Many fans have been using the nest migration to complete their Pokedex since it was originally released during the first month of Pokemon GO. The game has came so far since day 1, that we’ve finally got some of our most requested features in the game as’well as some much needed features coming within the next few months and all next year. We’ve already gained 2 generations of Pokemon, with a 3rd in discussion which could make the game more advanced and funner than before!

When Nest Migrations were first introduced into Pokemon GO,  fans were able to track which Pokemon have switched with the Pokemon in their current nests. Now they are completely random all over the world, which makes the nest migration even better. With raids being released, fans speculated that raid bosses and nests would rotate simultaneously which as of now doesn’t look like the case.

Central Park NYC has changed to Cyndaquil so be sure to visit if you need some candy for Cyndaquil.

If you’re unsure if you have a nest or don’t know what a nest is in Pokemon GO, you can view the details below of which nests are currently in the game. I’ve also listed the difference between a frequent spawn and a nest so you don’t get them confused.

Frequent spawns: A Frequent spawn is an exact location where a Pokémon native to the location’s habitat or biome can spawn. Frequent Spawns are throughout, including within nests which is why you see pidgey in the middle of a Charizard nest. Frequent spawns are not evenly disbursed in these areas.

Pokemon Nest: A Nest is an area, usually in a park that contains a specific pokemon spawn. These spawns can be measured as a Large spawn or a Small spawn. A small nest will spawn very few from it’s nest, and a Large nest will spawn around a dozen or more a day for you. According to The Silph Road, there are three different types of nests, a cluster spawn, a frequent point and a frequent area.

  • Cluster spawn = yields terrible stat and low IV Pokemon/variety of common spawns
  • Frequent area = has a high chance of spawning a Pokémon within a certain area
  • Frequent point = has a very high chance of spawning a Pokémon in a specific spot
